Hey there! I am new to herpetology as well maintaining reptiles and I thought joining a forum to thoroughly make my first experience a everlasting one so that I can grow my hobby from my very first Leopard Gecko to possibly an assortment of various reptiles! So here's a little introduction into who exactly I am.

My name's Garrett; I'm 21 and I study Biology at a University in California. (Sorry people, I want you guys to know me, but not know me. ) I am intrigued with animals, more specifically Reptiles and Fish. I do not own a leopard gecko yet*, but I will be in the upcoming week.

What morph are you going to purchase, because I would suggest either a tremper albino, tangerine, or Mack snow. These are very nice newbie morphs.

To be honest, i've been pitted into buying a gecko from a ++++++++ (shame on me.)

Where I live, the reptile shops have no leopard geckos and seem to find them "useless and not worth your time." The closest shop that has 1 bell and is approx. 2 hours away.

I've looked at shops online, and they req. a 35$ overnight shipping price which is pricier than the gecko itself. I'm trying to adopt, and even put an ad on Craigslist for locals that might have any Leo youngs or even a pair that they do not want on their hands and i'll even pay, but no luck so far.

Being in college.. Money is tight, so spending 50$ on a terrarium and then an extra $80+ on a gecko.. I'm sorry if it seems irrational, but these geckos can't be so bad.
