So Im pretty much brand new to leopard geckos.
I have 6 babies but i dont really know what they are. If anyone could help out that would be great! (or just tell me how cute they are:)) lol.

This one I know is an enigma but i dont know anything else lol. (and i know he has a kink in his tail :( is that hereditary? it looks pretty bad to me)

where did you get the top two? The second picture seems to be a jungle... the third is most likely a normal, and the last three are most likely high yellows or hypos...

How long have you had them and how much do they eat? The last few look okay but the first two look pretty skinny. Any more pics of the Enigma?

You are doing good, but might I suggest you don't buy wholesale geckos in the future. Who ever sold that enigma to you never cared for it and stress alone can cause that kink.

1st enigma het?
second looks mack, but can't be sure
3rd is a normal
last 3 are tangerines of some degree....

Why do you say no wholesale?

Yeah, if you have to get one from a large pet store chain, only look for healthy ones, even though they may not be healthy..Ask the people a lot of questions too see if they even know what they are doing, ask them what he eats, and if they can, see if he will eat for you at the store.

I got June Bug from a large chain pet store a few weeks ago, other then being skinny and missing the tip of his tail he looked really active and was a great eater the day I got him, he's gained a lot of weight, and is doing great..but other times, they may not do so good.

Breeder's won't really ship up here to Alaska, they don't want to risk it since it can be over a 20 hour flight, plus 20 or so hours on a truck..

If he can't catch the crickets, I know this is bad, but just pull off their back legs and they won't be hopping around like crazy..

Waxworms won't help him.

When was the last time you seen a breeder with geckos like that? I know a few wholesalers who are GREAT, but I prefer to know hatch dates, genetics and who to ask if a problem comes about.

My blanket statement was wrong in hindsight, but I still think it's a good rule to live by.

I agree, we used to have a store here in town that genuinely cared for their reptiles and they were all fantastic, but a lot of times you can't trust these big chain pet stores.

You walk in, ask for a pet, and they give it to you.

Usually they don't even ask you if you have everything, or if you have any questions.

The guy we got the enigma from had just gotten it a few days ago from someone who didnt want him because he had a kink in his tail and the mack snow he got from a guy getting rid ofhiscollection because he couldnt afford food.
We will definitely try the cricket thing for him.
And even though hes skinny he seems very active.

and as i said we are very new to this and you could probably say rushed into buying them =(

That's okay, as long as you have the temps right, and have them eating, everything will hopefully be fine!

Feed young geckos as much as they will eat daily and you will have happy geckos :) I in no way think you made a bad choice, but that enigma makes me sad to see so thin.

Congrats on your new babies. I would also get meal worms so you can put in dishes in there cages so if they want they can eat anytime along with you feeding them crickets :D

As long as you feed them as much as they WILL eat they fatten up quickly.

Within a week of having June Bug he gained weight.

They are skinny but with some tasty crickets, mealworms and proper temps they should be fine. Just have to keep a good eye on them. If they continue to eat and eat but don't seem to be gaining weight there might be other issues but we'll cross that bridge if and when you get to it.
