Hello! This is my first post here! I am 31 and have loved lizards (and other awesome creatures!) since I was about 5 years old! I am a casual keeper as I am a busy artist; That being said, I am responsible and stick to favorite low maintenance species so they get the best care possible (as much as I would love to own chameleons and a million other species, I'm sticking to easy ones!). I have been considering breeding some geckos as I do have many years experience, and what I have owned has done well/is doing well...but the main reason being I am in love with these geckos and would love to experience seeing them hatch and grow! I'm hoping here I can learn more before I decide to breed anything or not, and if so form a sales or sharing plan so I don't end up with tooooo many babies, lol. If I do breed any, it will only be from one male and one female (not multiple females, haha!). I think my favorite lizard is probably the crested gecko after buying my first one just a few days ago at a reptile show, who I named "Velcro " :). He is absolutely amazing and even fell asleep on my hand while I was petting him the other night! I wish I would have given them a chance years ago, because WOW! Leopard geckos also hold a special place in my heart, though I am charmed by pretty much all lizards. I may get a beardie in the near future as well, as that's a favorite among so many people and one I haven't even owned.

Currently I own a almost full grown male leo (Jude), and a baby female leo who I am raising separately of course....and then my Crestie who is about 3 inches long nose to vent. In addition to the adorable geckos I own two wild caught southern alligator lizards (about 12 to 13 inches long each!) who are thriving, and tolerate being handled! I'm trying to get them used to me still so they don't get afraid of being picked up.....but they have never attempted biting me and I can even pet their heads, pretty neat! Gorgeous animals. I look forward to hopefully making some new friends here, and learning a lot of new stuff! And if there's a place for it I'll show any lizard related art I make :). Nice to meet you guys, and be here, God bless! Little gift from God!.jpg

Thank you! Yes I can (I have a small handful of photos I took last month or so ago), but could you please direct me/link me to where would be the appropriate place to post photos of them?

Welcome!

I suppose the right forum for alligator lizards would be the "Other Lizards" forum.
Other Lizards

Your Crested Gecko is very cute! I'm going to be getting my first today, so it will be a new experience for me.

I look forward to seeing pictures of your Leopard Geckos too! :)

Thank you! I'll try to get to posting some pics of my alligator lizards over the weekend...and I'll post a notification here with a link :). That's awesome you are getting your first crestie! Please post pics :D! I'm really happy for you, I'm so in love with my little Velcro I'm sure you're going to love whichever you get! He's a total blessing to have around, makes me smile throughout the day/evening! Even seeing his little head or fingers peeking out from behind the leaves in his tank during the day while he's asleep makes me smile, and is cute to see. Tonight when I got him out , he was a little scrambly when I tried to get him out of the tank, but then he literally jumped ON me from the tank, and calmed right down, lol. I am very much considering breeding them, but I'll need to get a female :).
