Hello everyone! I've been lurking around for a while, even before I got my little friend and I've finally decided to join. I recently acquired a leopard gecko, he's petstore bought and pretty small, he must be 3 months at the most. I asked the petstore for information but surprise surprise they don't know much.
I'm not sure if it's male or female yet (I'm hoping male since I want to name him Lionel like the soccer player
(Lionel Messi)) If not, I may go with Gaby if it's female. I'm not breeding him/her, I'm just keeping him as a pet.
I don't really have any pictures of him since he's pretty skittish and hiding a lot. I've had him for under a week, he didn't eat for the first two days but now he eats everything I put in front of him.
He's currently in a 10 gallon, on repti carpet, 3 hides - 1 on the hot side, one hide in the middle (humid), and one on the cool side. I have a bowl of water, 1 with meal worms and 1 with calcium. Pretty basic at the moment and not really decorated but he has what he needs. I'm using a UTH and bought a probe thermometer (as per this site's recommendation); I'm glad I did because the difference in temp. on the floor of the tank vs. the air is quite different.
Anyway, that's it for now, sorry for the long post. I see that I will be able to get tons of advice from all of you. I'll post pictures as soon as I can snap a few.
