So I'm wanting to switch my moist hide substrate and have just been using wet down paper towels in my male bins. But for laying females what does one do? Do they lay on the paper towel? Does the towel get all wrapped around the egg while they're digging? What's a good medium for the girls? Thanks.

You can use some sort of moss. I use the moss that you can buy for substrate for frogs and such. It holds water pretty good if you spray it everyday or so. Some people use vermiculite or perlite but just make sure your leo doesn't eat it. They cant really dig on a paper towel.

I think Sphagnum moss is the best. Paper towel doesn't allow them to dig. They will lay their eggs on that if they absolutely have to, but I don't think it's a good idea to use paper towels in layboxes when you could use moss.
