As a brand new leo fan, and after doing much reading, I decided that dubia roaches were the way to go (I really, REALLY hate crickets). However, after extensive searching online, I have not yet been able to find a supplier who will ship here to Canada, as the import rules and regs are quite strict. If anyone knows of a Canadian supplier, please let me know.
However, I was in a pet shop yesterday, and they had a colony of Madagascar Hissing Cockroaches, and these guys are HUGE. The lady in there told me that she started with 3, and now has enough to feed all of her reptiles, as well as giving them away to rescue groups etc. The nymphs are small enough for even very small reptiles.
Soooo, I came home with 3 of these giant roaches, and hopefully I'll have a colony before too long. If I end up with too many, I'm sure the raccoons and coyotes at the wildlife refuge where I work, will love them. But in the meantime, my funny side has been kicking in, and I'm thinking it's time to pull the camcorder out of hibernation, and start having some fun with these guys. I'm looking forward to leaving one in the bathtub for hubby to find :main_evilgrin: Any other suggestions out there for a little bit of fun with these guys?
