So, here's the scoop... my Emerine female laid her second one-egg clutch on April 23rd.
A few days before laying, I thought I saw 2 eggs, when she finally laid, there was only one. So, I was like okay, my eyes must have been playing tricks with me, because I flipped her over to make sure she was done, and that second egg was no longer visible, so I just assumed she absorbed that second egg, and just laid the one.
To be sure, I checked her lay box over the next 3 or so days to make sure there was only the one. Well yesterday (may 5th), I found one egg in the lay box (fertile unlike all the other eggs laid from her this season, however was quite dented, in fairness, the lay box wasn't as moist as I'd like it to be, so I have no clue how long it has been in there for)...
It looked like she was laying every 3-4 weeks, so I highly doubt this one-egg was her third clutch (just 12 days since her "last" from April 23rd)... But then again, I don't know how I could have missed that egg if it was laid as part of her second clutch.

So, what do you guys think? I try and keep good records of when eggs are laid, so not having a lay-date, which clutch it came from, and an expected hatch date, ticks me off a little :main_rolleyes:. So I'd like to figure at least some things out somehow, as to how I will, I don't know. :main_huh::main_huh:

But I didn't notice any signs of her laying a third clutch, no extra digging or a few days of no food. Normal behavior. It also seems weird that after laying 2 clutches in a row at around 4 weeks apart she'd lay at 12 days (or potentially less, it could have been in there for up to 4 or 5 days for all I know, I don't tend to check laybox's every single day if I'm not expecting eggs). Hence the confusion.

One of my females lays 21 days apart but decided to lay 11 days in between her last clutch,so it is possible for your girl to lay that one egg 12 days after her other clutch
