Some home made hides my wife and I made. These were first attempts. We'll be making more intricate hides soon

I used Mod Podge on those ones in the photo. I'm trying out MinWax Polycrylic sealer on the next few. I've been told it gives a better finish.

I am selling them at the Atlanta Repticon on the 7th and 8th of July.

These look awesome. I'd love to have a go at making some hides. How long didthey take to do?

Those hides didn't take too long. I used the styrofoam that falls apart. Real pain in the butt trying to grout them. I just bought the construction type foam that isn't made up of the little bits. Much easier to shape and keep together. Altogether a hide takes about 2 hours of time working on them. That doesn't include the drying and curing time for the grout, paint and sealant.

Have you used the polycrylic yet on any of them I'm currently making one and I wanted to know if the polycrylic worked good. Also if you did use it did you water it down or use as normal.
