Alright so I figured if I was making a rack I should take pics and share my ideas. What I did was basically made a stereo cabinet with extra shelves. Whole unit made from one sheet of 1/2" plywood. I used the nice stuff, but you can get flake for like 20 bucks. Here's some picks.
Kicker for bottom:

Top is flush but the back is staggered:

Started from the bottom and worked my way up. 7" in between:

Marked each time so I nailed it right:

Switch to 4.5" at top for hatchlings:

Strips of ply nailed on the back double as back support and a place to hang wires for heaters:

You get the idea. Two containers per shelf. Mated pair per container:

8 containers or 16 pairs of geckos. Or 8 individual geckos. Three top shelves for hatchlings:

Will post more once I get insulated mat and 5" tile. Shelves measure 22"x15" four twelve tiles per shelf. Heat mat between containers in back makes four mats for 8 containers.

That is really nice. Should serve you well for a long time.

I was about to build a rack myself but was able to find a Vision rack on craigslist for $200 with heat and thermostat. Might be worth checking out if you have more cash than time.

If you want lidless then make shelves come to top of bin. But remember you need 1/8" for heat tape. I found home/office bins that had feet cause I wanted to do that.

I'd check craigslist but I live in the boons so after a month of looking, I gave up. Still no mini fridge, had to get giant freezers. Lol.

My solution was to use tubs with lids. And reptitherm heat mats so I don't burn down my house. They only get about 95-115F which is not going to be hot enough to burn. But it's hot enough to heat one end of a 14" tub so the other end is 75F. Freaking perfect. I'm very happy. Also built petshop enclosure. Will post pics soon.
