Homemade hide and platform

I have finally gotten started on my first homemade tank accessories. I still have to glue it all together and remove the toothpicks. I am going to grout it and then paint(non-toxic of course) and clear coat. I figure it will take about another week to finish completely, but I wanted to see what some experienced people thought about the design so far. I still have some tweeking to do, like adding another support column, but the basic design is done.

looks good so far, be sure to update this thread as you do each step :]

my only concern is the bridge, it looks like it may be a little unstable for heavier leo's but it could be okay depending on how thick you grout. That's just my many years of Lego-brick engineering speaking

I plan to add some more support on the platform. If I can't get in sturdy I will scrap that part. Would hot glue gun work to glue the styrofoam pieces together?

I'm not sure about the hot glue, I'd try it on a piece first, but I'd be concerned with melting. I use loc-tite tub surround. It's very similar to liquid nails, dries quickly and is easy to use. Not sure what other peeps have tried.

I use black silicone. It dries solid but takes a little longer to set. If you did use a glue that take a little longer thats ok, and there's nothing wrong with leaving the toothpicks in. Just cut them off at the surface. The toothpicks will on add some strength.

Not sure of the brand name right this second, but I bought it at hobby lobby. I will check the name of it when i get home this evening. I do know it was water based.

Ceramcoat by delta creative is the paint that I am using. It's an acrylic non-toxic water based paint. I plan on finishing the paint In a Georgia clay color since I live in Ga.

Also on Krylon's site, they say all their paint is non-toxic when dry so theres another option.
