Horrible-gut wrenching rescue

I went to work today to pick up my pay check and lost a good amount of faith in humanity. Some woman brought a gecko into the store today in a shoe box, when the manager said that he couldn't take it back, I guess she just left it sitting in an aisle. My manager found it and was thrilled to see me walk in. So here is the poor little girl I found when I opened the shoe box.
Full Body-note the toes, the sinking on the head, obvious MBD

Tail-lovely kinks

Shoulder area and front legs-should blades showing and classic MBD signs

Stuck Shed-blurry pic- how could someone just leave it there?
DSCN0284.jpg

Shed stuck in the eye- too horrible to comment(good news, after the pic i put a few drops of water on her eyes and was able to get some of the shed out)

She is moving very little, but does hold her up and walk(on her forearms)some. She has the calcium def. shakes and well, look at those legs, she will probably need some Ca injections and daily drops of Ca. I seriously cannot beleive that someone could let this happen, but I am glad she didn't just toss it outside or anything. Tonight I'm going to see if she'll eat any crickets or mealies. I already have some slurry(Thanks Marcia!!!) mixed up for her. The vet appointment will be made tomorrow(as they are closed right now).

How long did this witch have the gecko?! This person has no heart or mind it seems. I wish the best for the little one... for the person who did this not so much.

How horrible! There is a reason the gecko was left in the aisle and you came in shortly after. The reason is so you would find it and care for it! Try to get some liquid calcium (NeoCalglucon) in her daily, and make up a batch of my slurry... with double the calcium (with D3). I don't think this gecko is beyond saving, and kudos to you for stepping up to the plate!

My manager told me that the woman said she bought it in June; so around 9 months.:(

I got her out when I got home from class yesterday and she was not happy with me, which made me very happy because it means she has some energy now! I gave her some liquid Ca and she had no problem licking it up. Then we tried the slurry(double Ca w/D3, Thank you agian Marcia!!!) and she loved it! I couldn't believe how much she ate. She didn't eat much the first night, but last night she couldn't get enough.:main_thumbsup: Thank you all for your good wishes.
