Would you use 2 heated hides side by side or one extra large one? The hide(s) will cover an UTH(s) which leads me to my next question. I have 2 UTHs and was wondering if I would be better off putting them side by side on the hot side if the viv... or should I just invest in 1 larger UTH?

Thanks

UTH should only cover 1/3 floor space of tank. That gives them the gradient temps that they need. My two girls shared the same humid hide for a few months, until I finally separated them, and gave each their own home.

I'm aware of this. My questions are: Would you use 2 heated hides side by side or one extra large one? ...and should I invest in another larger UTH or just use the 2 I have.

Thanks in advance.

I would personally use 2 hides.

I use 2 hides in my joint tank at the moment. It gives them privacy -allowing them to get away from eachother while both being near the heat.

As for the heatpads, I would probably get a larger one. Using 2 could cause a temp difference between the two pads.

I would just house separately. much safer and healthier for the geckos

Pixel & Vector have been together for awhile using 2 hides and 2 separate UTHs. I'll probably buy a larger UTH and continue using 2 hides. They are actually just as healthy as any other geckos I've seen... and much friendlier in a lot of cases, but in most circumstances I can tell no difference. I imagine it's probably pretty difficult to get a conclusive answer on whether solo or multiple housing is healthier.
