I was just wondering about the arrangements of some gecko enclosures. I have two hides one on the warm side one on the cool side? Moist hide on the warm side. Rocks only comes out of his moist hide to eat and right back in he goes. His food, calcium, and water dishes are in the middle. Right now it is very basic but was wanting to get some cheap creative ideas? Also is his moist hide suppose to be on the warm side? I was thinking how it would be better for the moisture to be on the warm end and not the cool end. Any tips and thoughts would be great.

I keep my moist hide on the warm side as well, though others keep theirs on the cool side or in the middle.

My own arrangement for my 55gal (which houses only my male Dante at the moment) has 3 hides. One on the cool side, on in the middle, and one on the warm side. The moist hide is also on the warm side, underneath of the repti-hammok. I have a piece of slate over the UTH/under the heat lamp to absorb heat. Like a heat rock that doesn't need to be plugged in (and is much safer). The calcium and water dish are on the cool side.
cool side/middle
middle/warm side

My 15 gallon has a similar arrangement. Moist hide on the warm side, a big hide that sort of spans the whole tank, a smaller hide on the cool side along with the water. Calci dish is in the middle though, because he liked to knock it over when it was near the wall on the cool side.

The rock hut is now moved to the cool side, it was on the warm side when the pic was taken. Calci dish is moved, like stated above

As for cheap ideas, try going to a craft store and finding things for the tank, either to buy as is or to make things with

I keep the moist hide on the cool side and so far he sheds fine. You can build some pretty cool rocky looking hides/shelves/walls using the styrofoam/grout method, if you have the patience. That's how I made the rock shelf in mine although he doesn't go up there very often but he does sometimes. Anyway good luck.
