Being a new owner of Leopard Gecko's, my initial setup was inadequate, to say the least.
Thanks to the advice of members here, I believe I have a hospitable, and comfortable set up now. I had taken back just about EVERYTHING from my initial setup, and purchased the following:
1. Exo Terra 36 x 18 x 12 tank
2. Zoo Med Reptitherm UTH (30-40 gallon)
3. Zoo Med Hygrotherm humidity & temperature controller
4. 40 watt red bulb with stand...for viewing only
5. Repti-carpet
The left 1/3 of the enclosure is the "hot" zone, set at 91 degrees day/ 81 degrees night (floor temperature). With the temperature to the far right, being the "cold" zone, which hovers about 9 to 10 degrees cooler.
Hides include a smallish size hot hide, a large moist hide, and a large cold hide. I also added a couple other things for climbing, and resting.
The moist hide is placed half hot / half cold, and seems to be the favorite of my two geckos. They are both in their now, with one shedding.
Thank you to all that took the time to help me out!
And...please let me know what you think about my current setup, and whether I need to change, add, remove something.
4Th tank in post is updated again! We and Dexter and Morgan like it now, Actually Dexter is obsessed with the XL moist hide, We tryed a smaller cave to give them more movement room but he was upset and sleep on the cool side all night then we put XL cave back in with moist washcloth there he went truckin in and crashed. I say SPOILED (-: after just 11 days.
Thank you again!
