Thank you

For those with more experience, the dimension above equal: 22.6"(L) x 14.76"(D) x 16.6"(H).

-------------------
It sounds like a "20gal HIGH tank", which isn't much bigger than a 10gal tank. Alot of people recommend only 1 Leo per 10gal. However, alot of people say you can put 3 leos (of appropriate gender) in a "20gal LONG tank." With your tank being only 2" longer and 2" wider than a "10gal Leader tank," ......I think they would become frustrated with each other.. :(

Also, if the enclosure is suitable, you have to make sure the gecko you add is a comparable size to the "fully grown leo" you currently have. Even if you don't clearly see bullying, a smaller Leo is likely to be too afraid/intimidated to eat well.

P.s.s. When putting 2 leo's together, be sure they have both been "quarantined" for "x" amount of time so you know that neither will infect the other with parasites/disease/etc. In this case, you may know your full-grown female is healthy.....but definitely quarantine any new geckos until you are sure they show no signs of "bad news." :)

-----------------------------

Be sure to get some feedback from someone who has tried a tank of that size before you decide. :)

Tb's advice sounds good to me! I personally wouldn't house a third in with them. I think it would be really cramped unless you're dealing with really small females that mature under 50g. You'll have to set up a quarantine tank to make sure she's healthy for 30-60 days before putting her in with the others and make sure she's about the same size so in my mind, you might as well keep her in it too. You'd also probably have to clean out the existing tank and wash everything that was in it to remove scent and ownership the other two have set down to cut down on territorial issues. Even then they may still fight and you may wind up having to separate all three into their own cages if they are mean enough to one another.

^The OP is asking about add 1 gecko to 1 gecko...I guessed the tank is too small for a total of 2.. I've never tried. What do you think? :)

Oh...must have written a reply before I finished my coffee this morning...haha. My general rule of thumb is that if you can fit two appropriately sized hides on the warm side and two on the cool side then the tank is big enough for two geckos. If you can't I think I would use a second tank rather than have the geckos prevent each other from meeting their needs.

Quarantine and washing existing decorations are still things I would do though, just to make sure everyone stays safe :)

Solid advices above. I'll just add that it's hard fitting double the hides necessary to house 2 geckos with a tank that short. I know with a standard 30x12x12" 20 gallon tank here, I can barely fit double the hides to make it suitable for two adult leopard geckos. If yours is 22x14x16, it seems to be a high type of terrarium, something more like a fish tank or exo-terra style tank. These are really more suitable for 1 adult leopard gecko, or arboreal species like crested geckos.

The only way I think you can make it work and make it comfortable for two adult leopard geckos, is by creating a second floor. Utilize your height to your advantage since the tank is taller. Having two floors will give your geckos enough floor space and enough room to stack double the warm/moist hides. Leopard geckos are all about floor space, as they aren't exactly great climbers. Having a second floor should give you enough floor space for two adult geckos.

I have 3 females in a 40gal long and they both have plenty of space. I have pics of my setup in the show off your tanks or whatever it's called section. Lol
