I know I have asked a few questions about rocks of lately but I have a question about housing...When I get my gecko, it will be my first and I am stuck on which kind of cage to get. I have looked into the exo-terra ones and the normal all glass 20L aquariums... what I am stuck on is the area that the gecko can roam around on...with the exo terra cages it seems that there is alot of space at top that the gecko would never get to but with the 20L the gecko would have a lot more space to place fake rocks and things along that line. The gecko would have a lot more space horizontally to move around and with the Leo that seems to be the better choice....all comments are welcome

I would go with the 20 L since Leo dont climb much, I have seen one of my leo "tried" to climb but clumsy lil thing.

I would get a 20 gallon long, It will have some space for rocks and things like that. It will make your leo happy

I have a 40 gallon screen cage with lots of room and , yes, leos do climb, a lot! They love to climb around the screen and explore. I think its a great work out for them too because it takes lots of strength to do it. And they can regulate there temps any way they like by how high they go, but its not high enough to hurt them should they fall asleep and fall I like the open air of the screen tank but I also have glass tanks for my smaller geckos.

I have one of those Exo Terra tanks and 20L's. I think it would depend on how many leopards you would be trying to house in it. 3 of my 8 leopards do climb. 1 even climbed to the top of the Exo Terra cage and slept on the background. If you want to house 3 or more go with the 20L.

why do you want to use fake rocks? i just went out and found some real ones and cleaned them.

I wanna use fake rocks cuz you can make them exactly how you want them! you make all sorts of shapes and hides....

If you plan to make your own rocks, then the ease of getting into the Exoterra cages makes it a better choice. You can create levels using your fake rocks. Or you could use the super magnets to create ledges with your fake rocks. The 20L gives you more room to play though. I just moved our female from an exo into a 20L tonight. She's been exploring for hours now.
