It really depends on how you house the eggs like the plastic containers, I have one but haven't put more than 6 in it at a time (snake eggs so far). It could hold up to 100 I would imagine maybe more.

I have been told that the Thermal Air Flow will dry out eggs quickly. I don't know from first hand experience as I've never used it.

I never had any problems with ours, I haven't put any leopard geckos eggs in it yet just corn snake eggs and the temp stayed correct. But I do think you need the proper thermostat for it to work.

They work well for incubating eggs in general. I have incubated Chicken eggs, Leopard Gecko eggs and Crested Gecko eggs in them with no problem. Last year I used two [one at 89 and one at 78] of them for incubating all of my Leopard Gecko eggs [~120]. You can fit a lot more than that in there. It just depends what type of container you use to put the eggs in. The thing to keep in mind when using them is to find an area that is stable with temperatures. I use a closet and it works pretty well. Eventually I would like to get a better incubator with a helix control so I don't have to worry so much about the temps. :)

You can use the turbo-fan model as long as you use sealed containers to incubate.
Question about sealed containers... if the babies sit in the seal containers too long, will the suficate from lack of oxygen? I'm curious incase one hatches over night, I don't wanna miss it and cost the hatchling it's life.

Nope I do not think they will suffocate, and not in such a short time.

You should open the container every so often(I do it every week/every other week or so) to let new air in/let the old air out, and that will be enough.

We were talking about, inside of a turbo-fan hovabator. They are rumored to dry eggs out.

Havent tried it but I would not use containers with holes inside one w/ a fan. I like my eggs too much!:main_laugh:

That is the model Hovabator that I have been using for a while now. I actually find the eggs do better with the holes in the lid. They aren't big. They are very small. Not like I am using a holepunch on them. :p

Thats good to know if it works, Thanks. I just assumed, after hearing they dry things out.

I`m still not going to try it:p

I just do not see any reason for holes, I think you are just going to loose humidity, and have the medium slowly dry out.

Not something that I have had happen.. medium drying out that is. Vermiculite and Digital Thermomter w/humidity read out have been good to me.

The reason that I put the holes in the lid to begin with is because I was getting a large flucuation of temperatures inside the box itself. I compared side by side a box w/holes and one without. What I had work for me and keep the most stable and uniform temperatures was the box with holes. 4 holes made with a small needle.

Everyone has different things that work for them. :)
