I used large ziplock bags filled with water to stabilize my temps in my Hova, it worked great. Some people even recommend not using the wafer thermostat and using a separate thermostat.
I have not personally tried using anything other than the wafer but was able to achieve fairly stable results, right now the weather is not helping me any. The temps outside are going from 50F to 32F or lower at night.
i use the plastic tray in mine and it works fine you just have to make sure you keep filling it this way you always keep an eye on your eggs aswell i fill it with warm water and keep the lid closed every week i go in and fill it again i used a seperate thermostat to get the temp to where i wanted it and its working fine or me
When you say you use a seperate thermostat, is that replaceing the wafer or what do you mean when you say that?
You set the wafer stat to full and then plug HOVA into the separate thermostat and place the probe for the separate thermostat into the incubator, using the separate stat to control the incubator.
