Hovabator tip

Well, I had previously been putting the thermometer on the bottom grate of the hovabator. After putting it on top of one of my incubation boxes instead, I've realized that the temps were too high before. I didn't have a problem with this last year, but this year a lot of eggs have been denting and going bad. Basically I think they were getting overcooked because I had the thermometer on the bottom part of the hovabator where it was reading a lower temperature than the air above.

I feel pretty stupid for doing this, but last year it was fine. So anyway, I thought I'd pass that along in case others with collapsing eggs are having the same problem.

To eliminate this I actually added my own PC fan which does not to make extra heat like the brand one. I also closed the 4 holes on the top the incubator comes with. I think they are unnecessary. Keeps temps stable. I also use a Digital Thermometer with a probe so I dont have to look though the window to see the temps and to read the temps more accurately.
