How can you tell if a Leo is overweight?

Hi,

My Leo is about 3 months old. I feed him 8 mealworms or 7 crickets every night. He's perfectly healthy but he's getting a little pudgy around the middle. He's still young so I don't want to under feed him but I don't want to over feed him. Is there anyway to tell if he's at a good weight?

Thanks!

It seems like you are not feeding him too much. Most of my juvie geckos eat about that much or more. A picture is honestly the only way he can tell. Sometimes geckos can pudge and will grow out of it.

post a picture for us to see :)
im sure it totally fine though, young geckos and eat a lot of food, like children because they are growing.
leos only tend to start getting over weigh when they are much older due to the slowed activity, older overweight geckos iv seen tend to have MASSIVE TAILS like bigger then their entire selves, turkey neck and cankles lolz :p

The gecko in my avatar got overweight, and she started to store fat under her armpits. If you see fat being stored in 'pouches' anywhere other than the tail, then the gecko is overweight.

the "air bubbles" under the arm pits is ment to be a good sign of health as far as iv herd. also some say its a calcium storage, dont know how true that is.
