How do you price your geckos?

Where do you find a basic, or fair price for selling your Leos?

I know it depends on grade, but I'm wondering where you find a starting point. I have a few ideas, but I would like to hear your feedback.

Thanks

I look at other websites and at the classifieds here. I try to go lower than the breeders that have been around forever, but not so low that it's offensive. Pricing has been a hard thing for me so far.

Pricing is tough. I have the same problem as Kristi. I cant charge what the Big Guys charge but you dont want to go so low that you offend someone or commoditize your work. Best thing I have done is find the highs and lows for a morph and record them quarterly. Then I grade my geckos within that price range. My dad and I are trying to come up with a grading scale that we can show our clients so they know why we priced them the way we did. That way there is a thought process behind the geckos offered value and not a guessing game which personally drives me crazy. Also, it is good to remember that something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it :)

I have been trying to price mine as well, and what makes it even harder is that Im in Canada and I have or am making alot of morphs that are not currently here. So I am trying to find the prices in the states to sell them fairly here, but most of the time the geckos are marked up quite a bit from the american prices. So my dilemma is do I follow the american pricing or follow the trend of the "Canadian Mark up?"
I am trying very hard to set a fair market price for my animals and am finding it VERY hard. I dont want to mark them up just because I am in Canada and I do not want to anger other breeders!!

I would find an average markup percentage and use that. As long as you can move them at that price, why not? If that's the going price, than it's fair.
