Okay so I kind of jumped the gun a little on trying to breed the Leos I just picked up so I'm slowing down a Tad and fixing my mistakes. Currently I have the male of my trio in a 20l with newspaper bedding, humid and cold side hide, calcium dish, water bowl, and a florescent light in him. The two females are in seperate 15 quart hefty tubs. With all the same things except the lighting. Now here is my plan and please critic as needed.....don't feel compelled to not be harsh as I didn't fully do my research before hand....which is a no no for any animal. Now the plan....with this weeks paycheck I will go out and buy 3x uths for them to create some belly heat. I will then order some flexwatt and a hydrofarm thermostat. I will then go to Kmart and pick up another 15qt tub, a acu-rite thermometer/hygrometer, and some stuff for hides, water dishes, ect. Then next week when the flexwatt and thermostat come in put it all together...then start getting lumber from my rack system. By next weekend I should have a rack setup and going. Please please please let me know What You think and what Would be the best route about this?

Dont waste your money on a thermometer that measures humidity. As long as u have a humid hide they will be fine. You would be better off buying one that has 2 seperate probes for temperature. Put one on warm side and one on cooler side and monitor that instead.

if you have three different tubs you need three different thermometor probes.

Id be careful of feeding these guys without ANY heat for digestion, good way to get some really ill Leo's.

Ditch the flouresent light, it throws NO heat and is probably stressing the crap out of the Leo. these are nocturnal animals so they don't need lights.

I would again suggest you read the caresheets for Leo's.

The most efficient way to monitor temps for multiple animals is using an infrared temp gun. For 3 animals or 33, it's one valuable piece of equipment. Otherwise you're going to end up with a mass of cords in a rack getting pinched, and they won't stay stationary.

Okay So I just picked up my paycheck is its pretty crappy as I had three days off for my short vacay. I will see how much stuff I can get with what I have. My aim is to get everything I need this week So I wont have to spend a lot next week. Here is wait I'm aiming to pickup.

•3x uth
•3x thermometers until I can afford a good heat gun
•A thermostat
•Another 15qt tub for my male
•Another 6' extension cord for the males flexwatt I'm ordering next week
•some small tubberware from hides
•more super worms / mealworms
•calcium

And I think that's it....if there is anything else I need please let me know...this is for three tubs I'm going to turn the 20l into my albino checkered garters tank as I can lock it. I will have the three uth running to a powerstrip attached to the thermostat and another power strip to run the thermometers. There will be a moist hide and another hide on the opposite side of the tub, a dish of calcium, and a water bowl. How does this sound?
