How far can a gecko fall before it gets hurt?

I wanted to know this because I am going to make a structure for my gecko but I'm not sure how tall to make it. I wanted to make sure that my gecko wouldn't get hurt if he fell off. Could I make the structure 6"?

6" is nothing @ all. No problem!

...our adult normal guy climbs a 16" tall tree every night and I've seen him fall out a few times... It doesn't take him 10 seconds to get right back up to the top of the tree. :main_rolleyes:

I'm not saying that a 16" tall tree is a GOOD idea... But 6" certainly isn't anything to worry about. :main_yes:

Wow! My cage is about 3ft off the floor. I'm afraid if my gecko somehow escapes and falls out of the cage, he will get hurt. What are the chances of my gecko getting hurt? BTW, the floor is wooden.

i had a gravid gecko jump out of my hands once. she hit a wood floor. she reabsorbed her eggs.

id say she was about 4' high. so, while they might survive a fall from that height (or 6'), its better not to let it happen.

I agree with the others. I would say 5 or 6 feet.

My gecko has fallen off my shoulder before on to carpet and was fine. But even then my heart skipped a beat!!! lol
