Fast enough. I don't think they could get away from you by flat out sprinting 3 meters, but they can go pretty fast f they want to. Kinda funny how scientists have never spent time figuring out how fast a lot of animals can go.
what is the scientific purpose of knowing how fast an animal can run? just a question. although it would be smart since most nature shows that talk about animals usually give this type of information.
their 3 chambered heart prevents them from sprinting for more than a few meters, but they can cover those few meters (lets say 6) in about 1.5 seconds... i know from experience.
they can be very hard to catch if they get out and dont want to be caught
How fast animals run, and how they move when they run might be of interest to biologists focusing on physiology. It would probably be some scientist's pet project because I highly doubt you'd get any major funding unless you really put a spin on it.
