I know some people keep their colonies together (1 male and like 5 females, etc)

But I keep my male separate:p ...
My question is, How long after my female lays can i mate her?

thanks!

Ps. I haven't made any decisions yet, I just want to know when is a safe time. Thanks

The answer remains the same :) You shouldn't have to re-breed her until she has laid a few clutches of eggs.. A few clutches can take anywhere from 1 1/2 - 3 months or so.

lol. I am sorry... Once again I wasnt clear enough.

After she has laid her last clutch of eggs(having laid several clutches already, and being done with these eggs) when is it safe to breed her again. She apparantly laid a couple times before I actually got her, but I may be wrong. She laid 2 on the 5th then 1 on monday.

Oh, so she already laid a bunch of clutches, haha, okay!! Well.. How often does she lay clutches? I try to re-breed after a decent amount of time has passed after the last clutch was laid, but also far before she could lay another. So if the female takes about 3 weeks to lay, I would give her about 10 days after laying her last clutch.. but that's just my opinion, I'm sure others have many other opinions as well :)

Sounds good, yes I believe that was her last clutch. I will give her 15 days to get big and strong again. She is surprisingly resilient to losing much weight after she lays.

If the feamles are finished for the season? I think thats what you are asking. I believe many Breeders give several months for the females to come back up to breeding size again before they breed for the next season. I am sure each breeders down time is different. It would all depend on the individual female and how quickly they come back up to size and ovulate.
