How long after mating

Does it take for a female to lay? I know that the female can retain sperm for some time. I just put my female in with my male and though Smeagol is infatuated with her....she isn't real happy about him being there. He sort of licked her and she screamed at him. I have never heard them make any sort of sound till now,lol. Poor Smeagie has been a bachlor for over a year now so he was just excited to see a lady again, hahaha:main_laugh:

At least 2 months for her first clutch sometimes longer. After that it's around 25-45 days.
The first clutch may also be infertile.

Thanks. I just wanted to make sure that I got the hovabator ready before. I like to run it at the correct temp for a week or two before havinf to put any eggs in. It is 74-78 correct?

74 to 78 is good. I try to keep mine at a steady 77. Just don't let it fluctuate too much, it can cause deformities. Good Luck.

I have a spyder hooked up to it to keep the temps steady. I plugged it in today and it has been at 76 for 5 hours.
