I've had a roach colony of 40 sub-adults for about 4 weeks now, and There have been visible male and females so far. About how long does it take for them to go from newly-shed adult to breeding? I just had my first generation of mealworms breed and I'm getting impatient with these guys. My temps. are 87.8 ambient and 95 at the very top of the egg crates.

Mine never bred while I had a heat lamp on them even thought temperatures were what I thought perfect (same as you describe above) and I had mature males and females. I had them that way for 4 months before I switched to an UTH and then I found babies about 3 weeks later.

Our temps are at 80-84 with heat on the back of the tub... we have tripled our productiion since we moved the heat from the bottom to the side... the babies retreat to the bottom to hide from the adults and if the heat is on the botom they will cook and wither away before you can collect them...

I have had my Dubia for a little under a year. i started with a large amount because i was impatient, 10 males 25 females 250 mixed. since that day i now have 3 10 gallon tanks filled. we use a UTH full blast under each tank. it covers 75% of the bottom leaving 25% un heated which is where the food and water gel. you should see babies within 4 weeks of roaches maturity. each female from what i understand each female drops between 15 to 30 babies.

Well im new with leopard geckos but been breeding dubia for almost 10years for my invertebrates

notice that if you start with 40females 20males and some juvies and nymphs it takes 3-4 weeks before you new youngs and a month or 2 to have a stable colony.. Well depends with the temp,, i dont use any heating pads or lamps for temp control since its too hot here in ph.. :p

I use a sterilite tote with a flukers heat mat stuck to the side and get babies all the time. I have a red heat bulb over it sometimes if it gets too cold in the winter. I started with about 30 females, 12 males, and 24 medium unsexed. I add females occasionally
