I've heard alot of the dreaded crypto. Aside from impaction it seems to be the thing that most gecko owners worry about. When I return to Canada I will be looking for a new gecko and I was wondering if you could tell me what are the signs of crypto I should watch out for and how long it takes for the first signs of infection to show up? Most geckos which i buy at a petshop I prefer to be at least 3-4 months old. Is that old enough to see signs of cypto? How long does it take for the symptons to show up and how long does an animal usually live when infected?
Also is crypto one of those parasites which is pretty common in our enviroment (a gecko can just pick it up anywhere, anytime) OR is it something which can ONLY be passed from one gecko to another?
