my gecko laid a very dented egg today, she had been in with a male but i never saw them mate and i separated them about a week ago and now she laid this egg (just one but its her first time breeding) the egg is VERY dented but i candled it and i can see a small blood vessel and a red dot.....is it possible it is fertile even though it is very dented?

i put it half burried in some moist vermiculite in the incubator, so how long till it should plump up and i can tell if its gonna be ok?

also, iv got the temps at roughly 82 (in ahovabator but the temps fluctuate btween 81 (its very rarely 81) and 86) how long till they should hatch.....is 60 days about right?

red dot and blood vessels mean it is fertile. Barry it 3/4ths to maybe even the whole egg covered according to how bad the denting is, as soon as it undents bring it back up to only half barried. As far as hatching time, i know 89 degrees is approx 30 days, 82 approx 60. So it depends where your incubator is actully most often at, going from 81 to 86 isnt a good thing if you want to be able to temperature sex, because 81 gives mostly females, while 86 i believe gives a good mix of both.

its starting to plump up a bit now, ill candle it again on wed as that will be a week since it was laid and ill be able to tell more acuritly if it is fertile.
