How long til new geckos settle in?

I just got a couple new leos for xmas and was just wondering on average about how many days it took ur leo to settle in and start eating on a regular basis?? I just got a new pair for Christmas last Sunday and both have been offered crickets and mealworms daily but do not give in. Just seeing what yall thought?

First off I would not handle them or bother them for a couple of weeks.I have had new additions eat after a few days and I have had leos not eat for 12 weeks after I got them.I would make sure they have fresh water daily and I would try feeding them after a week.

Thanks for the quick response. Yea I haven't been handling them, just putting in mealies or crickets for a while and seeing what happens. Hopefully they will start eating within the next few days.

I use a pair of long tongs and hold the mealies right in front of him or his hide and he eats otherwise it took 2 months before I started seeing mealies missing in his bowl just a thought!:main_thumbsup:

12 weeks! Wow this isn't normal, is it? Did he turn out ok now?

Yea I use tongs also, I just tried offering mealies and crickets and have tried with tongs with no response yet. I don't wanna just keep putting in their face and possibly stress them out. I'm just gonna give em about a week then start offering crickets again.

some leos take more time than others to eat.Although 12 weeks is not normal it happens.Yes he finally ate
