Gosh so many questions i have!!! I have meal worm in the tank in meal worm bowl, but to quite honest i end up disposing of them as they don't seem to get eaten. Just wondered what is the average amount a 14 gram gecko should be having in 24 hours. They are about the size of her head. Also should there always be crickets in the tank? should they be left in there? I was told when i bought her to put in some every 2 to 3 days ( i do every 2 or if they have gone sooner).

You should feed the as many crickets as they will eat in 15 minutes or so. Once they're done remove any remaining crickets as they will stress the gecko.

It took Hidey a good month & a half before he/she started taking mealies from the dish. I kept them in there anyway in case they were being eaten without us noticing.

Each nightly feeding I would make a point of taking mealies from the dish & tossing them before Hidey in hopes she'd eventually catch on to where they were coming from.

I'm assuming you're disposing of them because they are dead? Are you putting a thin slice of potato or other veggie in with them so they recieve moisture? They should stay alive for quite some time.

Yeah, back when my leo wasn't eating mealies yet, there were some in there for 3 weeks. No need to take those out unless they are dead. And Michael said it all about crickets. Just make sure buth crickets and mealies are gut loaded and crickets get dusted.

The crickets shouldnt be quite as big as the head as that can possibly cause impaction. They should be about as long as the distance between the eyes or a little bigger, but not as large as the head.
