how many inches of substrate?

This goes along with husbandry so I will post here. I decided to go with eco earth after lots of research and time. I was just wondering how much / how many inches should I have in the tank. I currently have half and inch but I know that they like to burrow sometimes and i'm not sure that that is enough. Any suggestions?

I have eco earth in mine. Normally what i do is have the cool side with more gecko earth than the warm side depending on the temp of the ground on the warm side. i try to put enough eco on the warm side that it says around 90-95 degrees. And on the cool side I try to achieve 78-82 degrees. i have a huge tank with five hides in it each hide being at different temps for them. So really it's all about the temps you want to get. I also like have different level ground so that it's almost like a second level. Also gives them a bit of exorcise when trying to move around the tank seeing as its on a slight incline.
