Thermostats are up-front about how many watts they can handle, but how many watts do most racks use? I have a NS 10 hole shoebox rack and have two RB 8 hole Iris MCB-S wide racks (on the way). Someone in another post mentioned that their rack uses about 450 watts, but how do you find out? I'm looking into getting a Herpstat, but the question is, will I need to get a Herpstat for each rack, or can I plug more than one rack into one thermostat? Would one thermostat be able to make all three racks have the same temperature? I think the Herpstat can only handle 500 watts, so maybe I should just shell out the extra money and get the Herpstat Pro which is made for four systems?
I'm also looking at Johnson's Controllers because I've heard a lot of good things about them here. The Johnson's can handle 1500 watts and I see in the picture that there are multiple outlets, so would I be able to hook all three racks into one controller? Maybe just the two identical racks?
