How Many?

How many leos can I keep together? I have a 1.3 group living together in a big rubbermaid tote (about the size of a 40 or 50 gallon) with some caves, moist hides, and stuff to climb on. They don't fight and the male doesn't seem to be pestering the females. Does that sound ok?

I had some people tell me that they couldn't believe I was housing them together because the male WILL kill all my females. :main_huh: I told them that I haven't ever heard that nor have I had a problem. But they insisted that the male is, for sure, going to kill my females... So that's why I am asking about the setup.

There are people that use the same set up and it has worked for them. Then there are others like me that it didn't work out. I tried housing 2 females in a 40 gallon breeder and they still didn't get along. For some it works and other it doesn't. The main thing is to watch for any fighting or weight loss. If you notice this then they will need to be separated. Just because you don't see them fighting doesn't mean they aren't doing it when you are not around. So look for scratches and bite marks. There is a chance that if they fought one would kill the other but it doesn't mean that they WILL for sure.

Good luck I hope it all works out.
