How much crickets to you feed to a juvenile leopard gecko? How do you know when they are hungry?
You feed your leos with tongs? As many as they'll eat in a 10-15 min period is the general rule. I can usually tell when my geckos are hungry when they come out of their hides when I'm nearby.
I personally don't feed crickets. I like to use dubia as a staple so I typically feed a set amount at a time or until they stop taking from the tongs.

I've never heard of people feeding leos with tongs - not that there's anything wrong with it though. But your reasoning makes sense.I make sure mine have 5-10 mealworms in their cage at all times until they weigh 25 grams. After that I give them as many as they want (usually 10-20) every other day. I only use crickets as a treat every now and again because their noise annoys the hell out of me.
I also use tongs to feed mine - mainly as a way to amuse myself. It's fun to watch them focus on and grab the bugs....haha. I also find its a decent way to make sure that everyone is eating. When I have females that are in with males I'll make sure they eat at least 5 mealworms every other day from tongs since I don't know who's eating the ones out of the bowls.
I feed mostly crickets, and I enjoy watching my leo hunt them down. On the occasion I feed supers, I'll just feed them by hand. Thankfully mine isn't aggressive at all.I have much more fun with it when my fingers are not at risk...haha. I had a male aggressively bite me before and IT HURT. He was worked up - I think over his reflection in the side of a glass tank. Stupid me went to pick him up and he almost took the tip of my finger off. Lesson learned...lol
