How much should I be feeding?

We have a new, 6 month old girl. She seems to be very healthy, and we have had her for about 3 weeks. She really likes to eat Meal worms, and I am just a bit confused on how much we should be feeding her. Right now, I am giving her about 10 regular sized mealies a day. She has not shown much interest in Crickets, so I just decided to avoid feeding her those at all. Is ten worms a day to much, not enough, just right?

She's still young, so I'd let her eat what she wants. Most of mine will eat about 14 mealworms a day. Some won't eat that many, and others will eat 20. I would just give her as much as she'll eat. She shouldn't over eat.

Wow Kristi, 14 a day? Most of mine would be fat pigs if I gave them that many a day! But 20? Yikes. Do you dust your mealies?

I adjust my feedings based on the geckos girth. If they are starting to get fat I cut way back on their food. It's tough once they get fat to get it off them, so it is best to get a grip on this early or you have to go out and buy the new and improved ZooMed Repti-Treadmill.....

I let my geckos under a year old eat what they want since they're still growing. My adults get 20 every other day. And yes, they're always dusted.

I have found with my girls they eat what how much they want and quit. I have had to cut off my big girl once or twice because she was on her 6th big roach and I felt that it was enough. I use my gut instinct most of the time. But like Kristi said little ones can eat as much as they want.

My male Sunglow is a pig....he averages about 12 supers per feeding :main_laugh: (every other day) and he is a big boy. Closely behind him are my male Bell and Blizzard both eating an average of 10 eat. Females will eat a little less.

I generally feed them as much as they can eat. I only keep a close eye on two females to ensure that they do get at least 5 supers and that other females aren't eating all the super mealworms.

I am switching to med/large mealworms from super mealworms so that numbr could very well double.

We'll see as I am also about to switch over to roaches........dubias.
