i'll be getting a leo soon, and from what i hear, basically you dump some mealies or crix in there and leave em be.

how many do you think should be put in the viv at a time?

the no bigger than the space between the eyes rule applies, yes?

can i also put an appropriate amount of dubia instead of mealies and/or crix in there?

and i should keep a constant supply of pure calcium (no D3) in the viv too, right? how much calcium should i keep, a tablespoon?

should i put the bugs straight into the calcium?

sorry for all the questions, just doing a bit of research before i make the leap into the leo world

1. Yeah pretty much.
2. As much as they can eat in 5-10 minutes.
3.A little bit bigger will be fine, not too big.
4.I personally would just stick to mealies/crickets/waxies.
5. You need a little bit of d3 to absorb the calcium so i would have both mixed together.
6.If you dust the feeders you dont need a bowl with cal.
7. Np

I feed as many mealworms my geckos can eat and a set amount of Wax worms. I rotate every so often from Wax Worms to Super Worms. I also coat my geckos food in Rep Cal. Only do this about 2x a week. I also have a small Dasani water bottle cap full of calcium in there. Dont leave crickets in the tank because they annoy your gecko, chirp and make the cage STANK! All your gecko needs is Mealworms, Wax Worms (only just before/after breeding season) and Super Worms coated in Calcium and their fine. You can also use Roaches but I dont.
