How old are pet store geckos?

Hi all,

Does anyone know the approximate ages of geckos that are found at the larger pet stores? I know there is no way to get exact hatch dates, but can you estimate age based on the average size?

I searched through the forums, but couldn't find any earlier mention of this question.

My guess is 1-3 for most but you see some bigger ones that are probably closer to 4 or 5. I suspect their size would actually be larger if they were individually housed and not on sand.
