so i put one of my females in to the males cage, at first everything was ok. she let him get in position and was there for maybe 20 seconds or so. then she started to move so he got a better bite and she started bitting back and swating her tail at him. so i seperated them. is this normal? how rough do they get?

they can get rough, ive introduced a male to a female and he has chased her and biten too hard around the neck causing her a nasty wound.

if she doesnt want to mate she will just attempt to get away. if no serious damage looks like its going to happen they should be fine, try introducing for a litttle bit at a time

i put them to gether again and they bit on eachother for a few seconds then she ran to the other side of the cage. so i guess she is not interested right now. should i try again aftershe drops the first set of eggs? i can see them in her tummy.
