is there a point were anyone would say the males just too rough too breed safely with unfamiliar females?.........casper my bb male is nuts, his girl snowflake(my snake eyed raptor) already has her tail tip regenerated, and noticed he had caramel my tremper albino girl today in the tail death grip,i dont want her to go through what snowflakes already felt and got use too.....she did do the do with him last night im sure she knows the routine by now,she just gave in.......but want to leave him in for one more day to be sure.........am i being over paranoid,i'm sure they wont kill each other but.....or should i just let him do the do with snowflake,i seen my younger male in action and it was nothing like this dude, down right nasty lol......otherwise hes good with me,temperment wise, nailed me once but nothing serious.......any input is greatly appreciated......:D

Whenever i see my male going overboard with the nipping i spray him with water and he calms a bit...nah im joking, my male is the same thing but nothing crazy shouldn't happen if the female isn't resisting but just watch em for about 10 minutes (depending on the size of the enclosure) as you put them together to see if the female is resisting a bit and the male isn't trying to fight back to mount up.

If there's more than nips going on, he could harm her. I try to pair up when they are of similar size, to avoid any unfair disadvantages. One of my boys (88gm) is ready to get down to business immediately when a girl is put in with him. If a small female (50gm) was the target, and she wasn't receptive, I'm afraid he may hurt her with aggression. He does well with girls over 60gm. First couple nights new introductions are together 1-2 hours to see how it goes. I would rather wait a week or two and put them together again than to risk injury to any of my girls.

I normally know it's getting to rough when i see blood. other wise i let the boy do his work. As far as size difference I don't mind to much as long as they are both roughly 40-50g for males and 45-55g for females. With proper ages of course.

I just put my Lavender Radar Male 41g with an Eclipse het Bell female 80ish g's. Let me tell you that if there was such a thing as gecko rape last night would have classified in that territory. Within 10 seconds he was on her like white on rice, she was attempting to get away. He got her neck pinned her down and just had his way with her. I like to see agressive breeders, that way I know business is getting done.
