I breed all of mine the day after they lay a clutch. This way I have a high fertility rate. If the male has a heavy load though, I’ll wait until she lays 2-3 clutches, and then re-breed her.

oh so after I mate them she will lay more than one clutch?

No she will lay the same amount of eggs no matter what. But female Leos retain sperm. She might run out, that is why I breed more than once. Just to make sure that the eggs are fertile, not to make her lay more.

She will still only lay 1-2 eggs per clutch. She can retain sperm for 2-5 clutches. Some people rebreed after a few clutches to make sure that the later clutches will still be fertile.

My female was only bred once and gave me 5 fertile clutches.
