Could some one tell me how to breed crickets. Last time i tried breeding them they all died in the first week, i gave them wet sand as their egg spot, wet tissue as the water supply, and soil as their substrate.
What am I doing Wrong?

the easiest way to breed crickets is to get a plastic tub to put them in. They breed better at around 80-85 degrees. I use eco earth as the substrate. I started with about 50 adult crickets. I now have around 2-300 babies/ juvies. Take the plastic bin and fill the bottom with about and inch and a half of eco earth. Put some toilet paper rolls and empty egg cartons for shelter to limit cannabalism. Take the lids off of 2 containers for food. I use Flukers orange cubes for food and moister. And I place lettuce in maybe twice a week. Take another container about the size of a jello cup or yogurt cup and fill it with eco earth, soil(without fertilizersz), or coco fiber. This will be where the females will lay eggs. Keep it moist at all times, not dripping wet. Put the cup with the damp soil in the enclosure and leave it for maybe 4-5 days or longer(mine usually lay within 3 days of finding the cup). You might not see them inside the cup but trust me they will lay inside of it. Take the cup out and you will see little eggs that resemble grains of rice. Place the cup with the eggs, onto a heat mat and keep it at around 85 degrees. I didnt have an extra heat mat, so I just put mine on top of my cable box which gets it nice and warm, probably alot hotter but I dont care. With my eggs being on top of the cable box they hatched really fast 8 days. At regular room temp i've also hatched eggs, but only half would hatch and they took longer than two weeks at room temp. I now have tons of crickets that stink and I'm switching to dubia roaches. But follow my directions and you'll have tons of annoying crickets probably more than you'll want. Any questions just ask
