i have a leopard, for about 3 weeks now. he walked up my arm for the first time yesterday and kept walking on my hands and then got nervous by a noise he heard (the floor creaked a little) and he got really jumpy and it was very difficult to get him back in. he almost ran off a 2 and a half foot stand! i didn't exactly know how to pick him up and get him back in because everytime i put my hand there he would just either stare at it and go the opposite way or just go on it and keep going like he was going to fall and if i tried to lift my hand up while he was on it he'd get scared and i felt really bad :( i want to hold him again, but i'm scared this will happen again. i know not to pick him up by his tail but i don't really know what to do if this situation occured again

is he still pretty small? Babies/juvies can get spooked really easy, and the easiest way to pick them up (IMO) is cup your hands and put them on either side of the gecko and scoop it up, then put one hand over the other to trap it, so they cant jump. that way you're not pulling on any tails or anything :p

Also the best idea is props to handle him/her in the viv for awhile thats what iv been doing with mine and she's still a little jumpy but after a month or so shes getting there.
Should be the same with you maybe faster maybe slower depending on the gecko itself.
