How To Make Female Leopard Geckos Ovulate?

Hi so my male is going crazy he`s trying to mate with my females but every time they reject and either bite or run I heard its useless to try unless the females are ovulating, how do you do that? My females don`t look like their ovulating or gravid? The Forum won`t let me upload a picture of the females belly so if you would like one answer with your email please?.

Ovulation really isn't something you can force unless you're really experienced with brumation. I would suggest just waiting until she ovulates herself in the spring hon.

Ok thx so I just wait cause I really want to breed so do I do the cooldown do I just wait?

If you've never done a brumation I honestly wouldn't attempt it... anything worth doing right is worth waiting for. Let mother nature run it's course, and in the meanwhile take the time and read up some more on breeding so that you're ready for anything the leos could throw at you.

That's up to you honestly. I would seperate them until she's ovulating if it were me simply because if he keeps pestering and bullying her she could reach a point where she just says to heck with it and seriously attackes him doing some bad damage or to where she is seriously stressed out and then you could have a ton of other issues. She will ovulate with out him being present in the same tank.

For your females how old are they and current weights? They might not be ready yet to breed. I would put the male in a different tub/set-up for now until you can get some more info on your girls.

Unfortunately I can not elaborate on brumation since I've never done it and don't breed. Sorry. Good that you're seperating them tho esp. if your female is rejecting him so violently.
