What would you be feeding the waxies to? If it's a Leo then you should start a mealie colony.

im gonna feed them to 2 of my leos. and i know that i might sound like a siccy but i dont like to touch the super worms (SCARD OF THEM) and i am guessing that meal worms are going to be the same as the super worms. OH and do meal worms colines smell bad at all??...

No, they don't smell. You shoudn't feed waxies to your Leos. They're addicting to them and have no nutritional value to them, and they can get fatty liver disease from them. Mealies are smaller than supers.

Waxworms have nutrition to them FYI, they actually only are a bit more fatty then superworms. I wouldn't advise feeding them as a stample diet but once a week is fine. I don't know where NO nutrition came from, they actually have more fibre then mealworms, superworms, and crickets.

Another case of people saying exactly what someone else said...

They are not like drugs... People use super worms as a regular part of their leos diet but they are almost as "fatty" as wax worms... People need to get facts straight... Sure they should not be used as a staple but should be offered as a regular part of a leos varied diet... Giving 5 to 10 a week to a leo will not do any harm... They actuallt have the fats and calcium and other stuff leos need in their diets...

This 1 or 2 wax worms a month for a "treat" is rediculous and it lacks any backing or any reasons why this should be the case...

BTW we have a feeder forum that discusses feeder items for future refferences.

Yes, waxworms do have nutritional value, they are actually great to feed to geckos, but only sparingly because they are addicting - and not in a positive way (which is why you wouldn't really need a colony of them -- for two leos you could buy a cup of 50 waxworms and they would last you a month or longer!).

Mealworms are not scary like super worms, they are much smaller and do not crawl around like crazy a-holes like the supers do! They are also very easy to breed and a great staple food item :)
