How to tell a bold from a non-bold?

OK. I've searched pages and pages on the forums, but I can't find a real good distinction between a stripe and a bold stripe and I've got lots of stripes hatching! Theoretically, they should all be bold stripes, BUT there must be some "rule of thumb" that cuts that grey area of what's bold and what's not. Some kind of tail marking, head pattern, something? I also wouldn't mind any more distinctions into red-stripes, lavender stripes, and whatever else might be out there. Seems like red-stripes can be somewhat subjective as well.

I'm curious about this too. I looked at leopardgeckowiki.com morphs and went to the bold stripe article, and don't quote me on this, but MAYBE it has to do with how the stripe is "bordered"? Like in this picture:

I've seen some stripes on leos that don't have that kind of border, just a straight through blank line then on the sides the spots continue. Of course this is possibly/probably wrong, but that's the best I could come up with. Hope someone chimes in on this as well.

EDIT: Taken from leopardgeckowiki.com:
"A Bold Stripe Leopard Gecko is a Leopard Gecko where the pattern runs along its sides." <-- this is where I got that concept from.

Some of the best bolds I have ever seen come form Travis @ Enigmatic Reptiles.

When you see a true bold you will most certainly know it.
