is there a sure fire way to tell if a hatchling will be eclipse...?
I have heard it takes 6-8 weeks to see any pigment in the eyes...

thank you,
I have several babies from a eclipse x het eclipse crossing, and not sure what to look for...

Well, I've only hatched two from my Raptor hets, so far. But, one was an eclipse and one was clearly not. The eclipse had solid black eyes on hatching. She's lost some of the pigmenting and now has two snake eyes. I've heard that this happens alot and I expected that it might happen - I've never heard of them gaining pigment.

You should be able to tell from hatchling what color their eyes are. I have had a lot of hatchling Albino het RAPTORS come out this year with snake eyes. I have been able to see it from the second they came out of the egg.

Edit: I will try to get Tamara to get pictures of the hatchlings eyes. It is not an easy thing to do though... especially since they are so small and hate light so much ;)
