A Banana Blizzard if im not mistaken is a Blizzard that has a little yellow. its kinda hard to get a pic of mine but most of the time i think the little things that are like goose bumps (actual name escapes me at the moment) will be yellow.
A 'true' banana blizzard is a blizzard/patternless cross that expresses both recessive traits. The sad thing is that many are passing off their very yellow blizzards as 'banana blizzards.
Blizzard is a recessive gene, and so is the Patternless gene. A TRUE 'Banana Blizzard' is a Blizzard and a Patternless combined into one, and expresses both recessive genes at the same time.
So one with a spot would not be patternless? Well lets put it this way I have a 7-8 month old blizzard, Ive been calling it a Banana Blizzard because all the bumps (again the name escapes me) are yellow and some of the skin on the base of its tail. She also has a spot coming in like at the middle of her tail, you can't see the spot in this pic as its so small but it gets bigger with every shed.
P.S sorry for hijacking this thread should i start a new one/
I think the point here is that you must know the origins of the animal (whether it has patternless and blizzard genes - you can't always tell by just looking at the gecko...
blizzard with no patternless genes = blizzard (regardless of color)
blizzard with patternless = banana
I hope someone will correct me if this is not true, but this is what I got from the above answers....
