I would love to breed one of these animals myself. I think they are beautiful. Could some one lay out how i would go about breeding my own black holes. I have a SS male and soon another SS female. I'm assuming they are part of the equation. but if I'm wrong let me know.

black hole AKA mack snow eclipse enigma. you need eclipse, mack snow and enigma genes.

I make mine with mack eclipse X eclipse enigma.

you have a slight chance with mack het raptor x enigma het raptor. You need one animal that's mack and carry eclipse genes and one that's enigma carrying the eclipse gene. You could use mack enigma het eclipse x eclipse ;)

All you have to have is the following three mutations:

Mack Snow (het Super Snow)
Enigma
And Eclipse

The project shouldn’t really be a hard one genetically as two of the genes are either co-dominate (Mack), or dominate (Enigma). I’d almost do a Mack, het R.A.P.T.O.R. x B.E.E.

If i use a super snow do i even need an eclipse because the SS has eclipsed eyes so what if i breed a SS to an enigma? wouldn't that work?

The SS Black eyes are NOT Eclipse.

im lost then i went to the gecko wiki site and says 3 animals with eclipse eyes super snows, tremper eclipse, and blizzard eclipse. So i would still need some sort of eclipse to make a super black hole

The Leopard Gecko wiki isn't always correct....
The Blizzard and Super Snow eyes are not a True Eclipse. Simply eye pigmentation associated with the respective morphs.

So say i take an Eclipse het RAPTOR x MS Enigma there is a small percentage that i could create the "black hole" ? My question is purly for understanding genetics, i have no interest in creating this morph.

If the Enigma is het Eclipse, yes...

So OK then let me ask this question, if a get a gecko that is an eclipse enigma and i breed that with a SS i get a super black hole? I'm just trying to narrow it down to just 2 animals. do not have large amounts of space in apartment.

You cannot produce a Black Hole from SS to Eclipse Enigma. Black Hole is Mack Snow Eclipse Enigma. Unless your super snow is Het Eclipse you will not produce one.

Pics? Honestly it just sounds like you produced a Mack Snow Enigma with Dark Eyes... I have many of them ;)

Yep! You've got it! The breeders have to be:

1.) both heterozygous
2.) both homozygous *or*
3.) one heterozygous and one homozygous

...for the Eclipse gene. That is what you were missing.

The tremper eclipse is different from the blizzard, or super snow eclipse as it can be detached from the mutation it was originally found it.

But a super snow enigma, will look just like a super snow eclipse enigma.
