I'm posting this as a reminder to never get too comfortable with your set ups. We only have 3 leos. They're kept in my boys' room. We check on them daily, but we were slacking on the temp gun checks lately.

My 7 yr old unknowingly unplugged his leo's UTH the other day. It may have been off for a day, maybe 2. I realized something wasn't right when his leo was hanging out in the "wrong" area. I took him out & man, was he cold. Mind you our house is 70, but brrr. I took him downstairs with me & kept him on my arm for a couple of hours while the UTH warmed back up. All is well now.

My poor kid cried when I told him. He was afraid that he had seriously hurt his gecko. Now we're labeling our gecko plugs. I'm going to move the temp gun to a place where Gabe can check the cages too. That's the end of my gecko-public-service announcement.

Wow, sounds like you guys got lucky. It never hurts to keep a check on temps. A very good gecko public service anouncement!!!!!

awww, poor little guy (i mean your son). At least he really cares about the gecko! I'm sure the gecko is fine since those temps shouldn't hurt him for only a few days. Glad you have a kid that has some compassion for his little leo. Good job!
